CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. It refers to the process of tracking and documenting the skills, knowledge and experience that you gain both formally and informally as you work, beyond any initial training. It’s a record of what you experience, learn and then apply in relation to your professional standards.

We in line with the GHR define CPD as a range of learning activities through which you, as professionals grow and develop to ensure that you retain the capacity to practice safely and effectively within the ever-evolving scope of practice.

Effective CPD should ensure that you stay up to date in current developments. The ICHI bases its CPD requirements for its members on the premise that registered members are professionals capable of making their own decisions about what best serves this purpose in relation to your own practice. As a result, we do not ‘approve’ or ‘validate’ specific activities but allow you to choose for yourself what best meets your CPD needs. However, you must comply with the following:

You must aim to ensure that your CPD enhances your professional practice and improves the service to your clients.

You must complete a minimum of 25 hours of CPD per year

At least 15 hours CPD must be directly related to Hypnotherapy

CPD can include a range of activities form researching and reading related articles – attending conferences, completing first aid courses, marketing training and business development etc.

The ICHI/GM will have access to a range of CPD modules through our Mastery Training and also through a variety of internal and external workshops and training days.

When renewing your membership each year – you must provide a log of all CPD related activities – please go to our resources link in the membership area online  for your  CPD Log Template.
